Chapter 881 - 878: Finally Waiting for You (3)
Kris Cooper led her to a nearby chair to sit down and gave Tommy Taylor a look, signaling him to take good care of Vera Wave. He then straightened up."Wait for me a moment, I’ll be right back."
Turning around, he strode to the corner of the corridor. Once he was sure from a distance that Vera couldn’t hear him, Kris Cooper took out his phone and dialed Michael Freenan’s number.
"Captain Liu, how’s the situation?"
On the other end, Michael Freenan had already arrived at the scene.
"The scene is still being cleared, and Irene Spencer’s condition is still uncertain."
"And... Grandma Wave?"
"Captain, the car is ready." A police officer ran over.
Michael Freenan turned around, took big strides over, and got into the back seat of the car, "We’re heading to the control center right now. We’ll use Sky Net to track Irene Spencer’s car, and then deduce Grandma Wave’s location. I’ll notify you as soon as there is news."
Hanging up the phone, Michael Freenan immediately gave the order.
"Drive."
The car left the villa community immediately, heading for the city’s control center.
Such a significant incident had already caught the attention of many people, and Lucille Matthias had also received the news. By the time Michael Freenan arrived, she was already standing in the main control room of the control center.
"Director Lucille!"
Nodding to Michael Freenan as a greeting, Lucille Matthias’s gaze remained fixed on the large screen on the wall.
"Push from both the start and end points, whatever it takes, we must find the old lady!"
"Yes, Director!"
The staff immediately agreed, and several people began searching separately for the traces of Irene Spencer’s vehicle.
As everyone carefully searched, Lucille Matthias turned her head.
"Let’s go, we’re heading back to the police station right away!"
Michael Freenan immediately followed, and the two returned to the police station. Two small teams were already ready to go. Lucille Matthias took the map and quickly briefed the two team leaders on their tasks.
The two small teams took search-and-rescue dogs with them and headed separately to the location where Grandma Wave went missing and the scene of the incident. As two vehicles left the police station, Lucille Matthias turned to Michael Freenan.
"Prepare for the press conference, and also release Grandma Wave’s photo to the media, so the public can help search too."
"Understood."
Michael Freenan immediately agreed.
A moment later, the press conference officially began. Michael Freenan reported the current situation to the media and released Grandma Wave’s photo, asking everyone to help search together.
...
...
Inside the hospital.
A black Mercedes-Benz drove through the hospital gates and stopped outside the emergency building. The car doors opened, and Bailey Hansen and Christopher Cooper jumped out from either side, urgently rushing into the emergency building.
They dashed upstairs, and Bailey Hansen, gasping for breath, turned into the corridor.
"Kris, Vera!"
"We’re here!"
Hearing the voice, the two people sitting outside the ICU ward immediately stood up straight.
They jogged over, grabbing their son and daughter-in-law from either side. Seeing no signs of injury on them, Bailey Hansen finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"You two little troublemakers, you almost gave me a heart attack!"
"Mom, I’m sorry," Vera spoke apologetically.
"It’s okay as long as you’re safe. If something happened, you think I’d let you off easily!" Bailey scolded them, yet her tone was full of concern.
"You’re not hurt, are you?"
Christopher Cooper also walked over, standing behind her and asking.
"We’re fine," Kris Cooper replied.
"Have you found Grandma Wave?" Christopher Cooper continued.
At the mention of Grandma Wave, Vera’s expression immediately turned somber, "There’s still no news."
"Don’t worry." Bailey Hansen pulled her into an embrace, "Trust your mom, nothing will happen to Grandma. We’ve already called your Aunt Lucille, she’ll do her utmost to help find Grandma for you. Don’t worry too much; your health is important. Otherwise, when Grandma is found, and you fall sick, how heartbroken would I be?"
