Chapter 1136: The Lost Baby
Chapter 1136: The Lost Baby
"Going back?" Sophie raised her face and gave them a sly smile, then suddenly added, "Let’s go together!"
Their home was with the Walyon Family, what’s this "together" about?
Summer Sutton hadn’t even spoken yet, but Sophie’s small body had already slipped in.
Quickly reacting and moving nimbly like a small rabbit, Sophie squeezed Watt Bennet toward the car door, sitting down right next to Summer.
Swinging his legs gently, he commanded the driver in front, "Drive!"
The driver, unaware of Watt and Summer’s feelings about Sophie coming up, slowly started the car.
Summer turned her head to glance at Watt beside her, observing his reaction.
Watt, several times, wanted to throw Sophie out, but considering the speed of the car, he managed to suppress his urge.
The car continued on its path, with neither Summer nor Watt speaking, only the chatter of Sophie filling the space.
"Sister-in-law, everyone’s living in the same city. Ever since my brother left, why have you been so unwilling to go home?"
Summer was about to say something, and just as she opened her mouth, Sophie chimed in, "I know, have you not forgiven Mom yet?"
"Sophie!" Summer realized what he was trying to say and tried to stop him, but Sophie continued without pause, "Is it because of the child? That time, Mom was really out of line. Knowing that you were pregnant, how could she push you? The fact that Brother is gone shouldn’t be blamed on you! You couldn’t predict the future. If you knew something would happen when Brother went abroad, you wouldn’t have let him go. The person he loved most in this world was you. You were also in pain at that time, so how could anyone put all the blame on you?"
His little mouth ran on and on, speaking a lot.
Frowning seriously, as he spoke, he kept shaking his head.
Inside the car, it suddenly fell silent at some point.
The air was filled with a stern chill, hovering above the three of them, making the whole car feel oppressive.
Summer turned her face slightly, stiffly glancing at Watt beside her.
Though Watt wore a mask on his face, she could clearly feel his change in expression.
His gaze was cold, the chill around him seemed like frost formed over a thousand years, causing the temperature in the car to plummet several degrees.
Summer hadn’t told him about these things.
She always thought that losing the child was also partly her responsibility, and she wanted Watt to return to the Walyon Family sooner, hoping not to intensify his conflict with Diana Wood.
Sophie was also watching Watt, but unlike Summer’s openness, he watched stealthily.
His small head tilted up slightly, he discreetly observed Watt’s reaction.
Although he was young, considering the obvious change in Watt’s expression, he could certainly perceive it.
Sophie even thought that if Diana were present, Watt might angrily lash out directly.
But, the child lost was his brother’s and sister-in-law’s, why was he so angry?
It had nothing to do with him!
Sophie had always been a very clever child, and with a little thought, he could guess the reason behind this.
Silently staring at Watt, Sophie felt a surge of emotion welling up in his chest.
