Chapter 272: Frontline Battlefield I

Chapter 272: Frontline Battlefield I

The three of them shot into the sky and sped toward the battlefield.

Along the way, Sylvia briefly explained the situation.

The Central Continent was vastly more dangerous than either the Outer Sea or the Inner Sea. Powerful Demonized Monsters roamed everywhere, and even Seventh-Order World Shards were far from rare.

Some of the stronger organizations were forced to withstand simultaneous assaults from several Seventh-Order World Shards.

The Demon Subduing Alliance itself was primarily engaged against endless hordes of Demonized Monsters led by two Seventh-Order World Shards.

The dominant races within those World Shards were the Gray Demon Clan and the Mountain Ridge Giant Beasts.

Each race possessed multiple Seventh-Order Demonized Monsters.

Together, they commanded a total of twelve Seventh Order Demonized Monsters, making them one of the greatest threats faced by the Demon Subduing Alliance.

On the Demon Subduing Alliance’s side, there were only nine Seventh Order experts in total. As a result, they had long been suppressed by the Gray Demon Clan and the Mountain Ridge Giant Beasts.

Although there was no immediate danger of annihilation, if the situation continued, they would eventually be worn down over the years.

"Twelve Seventh-Orders?"

Freya’s face filled with shock.

The Blue Flame Civilization had not been part of the Demon Subduing Alliance for very long, and the enemy had never launched a full-scale assault against them. This was the first time she had learned that the opposing side possessed as many as twelve Seventh-Order Demonized Monsters.

"For us, twelve Seventh-Orders are enough to make it difficult to breathe."

Sylvia shook her head lightly.

"But to the Remnant World, a mere twelve Seventh-Orders are hardly worth mentioning."

Noah nodded in agreement.

The Small Calamity he had destroyed, the Black Planet, contained an enormous number of Fourth-Order Monsters. The Remnant World was far more powerful than that. In such a place, Seventh-Order beings were not particularly remarkable.

"If the Disaster Will ever mobilized dozens of Seventh-Order Demonized Monsters..."

Freya shuddered at the thought.

"There’s no need to worry."

Sylvia smiled reassuringly.

"The Remnant World has far more enemies than you can imagine. Organizations like ours are merely a minor nuisance in its eyes."

She paused before continuing.

"Many powerful worlds and civilizations are keeping the majority of its attention occupied. Otherwise, forces like the Demon Subduing Alliance would never have survived this long."

"Which worlds are powerful enough to do that?" Noah asked, somewhat surprised.

"I’m not entirely sure about the details."

Sylvia shook her head.

"We only learned this information while exchanging intelligence with some of the more powerful organization. As far as I know, they are likely a few Third Level Civilization, or Middle Thousand Worlds of equivalent strength."

"Middle Thousand Worlds?"

A hint of surprise flashed across Noah’s face.

Extraordinary Worlds were divided into three categories according to their strength.

Small Thousand Worlds, Middle Thousand Worlds, and Great Thousand Worlds.

Small Thousand Worlds corresponded to Tier 2 Awakened Civilization, while Middle Thousand Worlds were comparable to Tier 3 Awakened Civilizations.

Blue Star had only recently entered the Extraordinary Realm. According to this classification system, it was merely a Small Thousand Worlds, and one of the weakest at that.

"Third Level Civilization and Middle Thousand Worlds of the same rank? The Remnant World dares to provoke even them?"

Freya was completely stunned.

In their eyes, the Remnant World was an unimaginably powerful existence.

Its origin traced back to the massive Disaster Abyss, where fragments and remnants of countless worlds devoured by the Abyss eventually gathered. Because of this, the Remnant World possessed tremendous prestige.

Yet despite all of that, it was ultimately only a Medium Calamity World, and the strongest Demonized Monsters within it were merely Seventh Order.

Third Level Civilization were entirely different.

They had already unlocked Seventh Order and Eight Order Instances, allowing their strongest Awakeners to advance to the Ninth Order.

The gap between Seventh Order and Ninth Order was like the difference between heaven and earth.

No matter how powerful the Remnant World was, if it encountered a true Ninth Order expert, it would likely face nothing but destruction.

"It certainly wouldn’t dare provoke a fully nurtured Third Level Civilization."

Sylvia smiled faintly.

"However, both Awakened Worlds and Extraordinary Worlds continue to grow. When those civilizations were first targeted by the Remnant World, they were probably only Tier 2 Civilizations or Small Thousand Worlds."

She paused briefly before continuing.

"The Remnant World failed to destroy them. As a result, they were given the opportunity to develop further, eventually becoming Third-Level Civilizations and Middle Thousand Worlds."

"Then why don’t those Third-Level Civilizations and Middle Thousand Worlds invade the Remnant World and eliminate the Disaster Will once and for all?"

Freya asked with obvious regret in her voice.

The Blue Flame Civilization had little confidence in advancing to a Third-Level Civilization. In fact, even maintaining its status as a Tier 2 Civilization was a constant struggle.

Simply surviving the endless assaults from the Remnant World already required every ounce of their strength.

That was why they had chosen to join the Demon Subduing Alliance, hoping to use the alliance’s collective power to withstand future Human-Level Calamities and ensure the continuation of their civilization.

Even so, they still couldn’t see any real hope of freedom.

Joining the Demon Subduing Alliance had merely extended their civilization’s lifespan. As for how much longer they could survive, no one knew.

Because of this, Freya desperately wished that those Third-Level Civilizations and Middle Thousand Worlds would take action, destroy the Remnant World, and free them from this endless nightmare of war.

"I’m afraid that’s beyond my knowledge."

Sylvia shook her head helplessly.

"Perhaps they have only recently advanced and still lack enough powerful experts. Or maybe they are occupied with other battlefields and simply don’t have the resources to deal with the Remnant World."

A difference of one civilization level represented an enormous gap in power.

The disparity between Tier 2 Civilizations and Third-Level Civilizations was almost impossible to bridge.

The Azure Phoenix Civilization was not among the exceptionally talented civilizations and had never established contact with higher-level civilizations within the Civilization Convergence Zone.
