US police: outlaws

Chapter 13: One Shot, One Soul

Chapter 13: One Shot, One Soul

Evelyn Hill leaned against the back of the car, breathing heavily. Her hands, which were loading the bullet, trembled uncontrollably. She had just witnessed a detective being shot through the head, and that feeling truly terrified her.

Just then, a shout interrupted her.

"Move aside, don't get in my way of getting my weapon."

Evelyn looked up and saw that her temporary partner for the day had opened the trunk, which contained their crew's only "heavy weapon".

"Remington M870".

Lee Ethan picked up the shotgun and loaded it with slugs: one bullet, two bullets, and with the magazine and the chambered round, it was 7+1.

After loading the bullets, he stuffed the remaining bullets from the police car into his pockets, including not only slugs but also buckshot.

When Lee Ethan looked up again, the drug dealers were still beating the criminal investigation team. Four automatic rifles and submachine guns were no match for a few handguns.

However, the situation will only become more unfavorable for the drug dealers, as police reinforcements will arrive soon.

Police support is likely coming from the east, south, and north, so the drug dealers will probably take the alleyway to the west.

After observing for a dozen seconds, Li Yisen had already made a plan. With tree branches blocking his view, he could climb over the wall and go around to get there.

"Ottilia conceals..."

Before Lee Ethan could finish speaking, an unexpected incident occurred. Ottilia, who was standing behind the car door, was accidentally hit by a bullet on her exposed shoulder.

The two quickly dragged the injured person to the back of the car and gave him some basic first aid.

Lee Ethan looked at his only capable partner and suddenly said.

"Rookie, cover me!"

How can I cover for you?

"You can use my pistol too. On my orders, fire all the bullets as quickly as possible, regardless of whether you hit anyone or not. Can you do that?"

Evelyn took the pistol from her partner, and swallowed hard as she recalled the scene of automatic rifle bullets flying everywhere. Despite her fear, she nodded.

"I can."

A few seconds later, at Ethan Lee's command, Evelyn fired both guns simultaneously from behind the car door. Due to the recoil, she not only failed to hit anyone, but also felt a bit of pain in her palms.

Seeing this, Li Yisen took the opportunity to climb over the wall a few meters away, and fortunately he was not discovered by the drug dealers.

"Don't keep a dog, don't keep a dog."

After praying, Lee climbed over several more walls. Fortunately, the surrounding walls were only about 2 meters high, and no dogs barked to give him away.

The only downside is that some people grow thorny plants, and even with gloves on, pressing down on them is very painful.

Soon, Lee Ethan reached his ideal position, leaned against the doorway, and took deep breaths. He then peered through the crack in the door to observe the situation outside. The gunfire was getting closer and closer, and he guessed that the enemy was retreating in this direction.

I started silently counting in my mind: one step, two steps, one second, two seconds.

Come here quickly.

.

"The target is trying to escape, pursue them."

Kaia Anderson crouched down and gave chase. Of her four colleagues, one was killed and another seriously wounded. It was all the work of that former Navy SEAL. His marksmanship was too good, and the difference in weaponry meant he could easily suppress most of the police officers by himself.

Their side had only injured one drug dealer, but fortunately, the sound of police cars gradually increased, and there was also the sound of support helicopter rotors in the air, so they couldn't let them escape.

Kaia got up and aimed again, but this time the former Navy SEAL was aiming at her with the gaze of death.

"It's too late."

A bullet grazed his face, leaving a shallow bloodstain.

The next second, the former seal man was knocked down as if he had been hit hard and moved a meter away, which shocked the other three drug dealers. Where did the bullet come from?

Without them even needing to search, shotgun slugs shot out one after another from the iron gate, even hitting one man in the thigh, leaving a gruesome bloody hole that made it difficult for him to walk.

"hateful."

"Go to hell."

"Bang bang bang bang bang bang bang"

Bullets from submachine guns and automatic rifles pierced the iron gate, creating holes, but it was unclear whether any people were hit.

In the main garden, cement and dirt flew everywhere. Li Yisen lay behind the cement block of the flower bed, not daring to look up. The burning sensation on his arm kept him still.

The gunshots faded into the distance, interspersed with screams, though it was unclear whether they were from drug dealers or police officers.

Li Yisen looked at his arm; thankfully, it was just a scrape, otherwise he would have to go on vacation again right after his break.

Once they scaled the wall again, the battle outside had already settled down.

Two of the four drug dealers were killed and two were injured. More than a dozen police officers had gathered around, and there were also powerful spotlights from helicopters shining overhead.

The gunfight ended, and I could finally relax. Even the setting sun felt warm and cozy.

"Ethan, Ethan."

A melodious shout reached my ears, and Evelyn came running over with a worried expression.

Are you alright?

"What do I have to say? Anyway, the plan was a success, rookie."

When Evelyn heard herself called a newbie, her cheeks puffed up again, making her look kind of cute like a hamster.

"Don't call me a newbie, I've been through a lot."

"Then let's go with the junior."

Evelyn tilted her head, feeling a little strange.

"Junior, that sounds weird. Doesn't that sound like something you'd use in Asia?"

Li Yisen shrugged.

"Being a newbie won't do, being a junior won't do, so what do you want me to call you?"

Evelyn shook her head.

"Just call me by my name. As a comrade-in-arms who fought alongside me, I allow you to call me by my name, senior."

"Yes, yes, Evelyn, I need to find medical personnel now."

Li Yisen nodded indifferently, looking around to see if there were any medical personnel, but unfortunately the ambulance had not arrived yet.

Evelyn exclaimed in surprise.

"Ethan, you've been shot, but you say you're fine."

"It's just a minor scratch."

"Let me bandage you."

Seeing that Evelyn was about to take action, Lee Ethan hurriedly stopped her.

"Hey, the first aid kit has disposable sterile gloves, why don't you use them?"

"Oh, sorry, I forgot for a moment."

Lee Ethan looked at the clumsy policewoman and was speechless, feeling like his eyelids were about to twitch.

Clean the wound with saline solution, then disinfect the area around the wound with iodine, and finally wrap it with a bandage.

The next second, Li Yisen's expression changed slightly, because Evelyn was using a lot of force.

"It's too tight; the wound is going to lose blood flow."

"Ah, I'll untie it now."

Just as Evelyn was frantically untying the knot, she heard a woman's voice beside her.

"How about I do it?"

Evelyn looked at the white-haired policewoman who had suddenly arrived. She felt that she looked familiar, like a detective. And she was really tall, with a great figure, probably around 8 meters tall.

"Actually, I can do it myself, there's no need to trouble you."

"Ethan is my friend, and besides, he just saved my life."

friend?

Evelyn looked at the two of them curiously. "Isn't Ethan just here? How come he has friends?"

"it is good."

The skillful and gentle techniques are on a completely different level.

Li Yisen looked at that familiar pretty face and asked.

"You four dared to chase after drug dealers armed with automatic rifles. I didn't know detectives were this bold."

"It was a sudden encounter; a patrol officer was shot and killed, which is why we had to pursue them."

"oh."

After Kaiya finished bandaging, she even tied a bow.

"You were the one who fired the shot inside the house just now, weren't you? Thank you for saving my life."

"Is that so? Then I'll treat you to a drink."

Kaia rolled her eyes at the other person.

"You know very well that you can't drink alcohol for a while because of your injury. Give me your address, and I'll make you some soup tonight—black chicken and goji berry soup, the kind you taught me to make."

"Then I'll try it."

"I won't let you down."

Soon after, Kaiya was called away by her boss, and Evelyn came over to gossip.

"Ethan, what's your relationship with him?"

"good friend?"

"Are they really just good friends?"

When Li Yisen saw that curious face approaching, he flicked its forehead.

"What right does a mere junior have to inquire? Go and help."

Evelyn touched her forehead and began to mutter to herself.

"Father, this is the first time I've been hit by a man, even though you wouldn't bear to hit me."

(Father: Am I really so reluctant to part with him?)
