Chapter 36 Inspection and Farewell
Chapter 36 Inspection and Farewell
A few days later, the delivery date for the 300 MP3 players ordered from Xinfeng Electronics Factory arrived.
Lin Feng got up very early and waited for Lin Xiaoqiang at the guesthouse.
Shortly after, a car horn sounded downstairs. Lin Xiaoqiang's bread truck had arrived, and Lin Xiaowen, sitting in the passenger seat, waved upstairs.
Lin Feng went downstairs and got into the car. The car first went around to Yuanwang Digital City to pick up Wu Wenjie.
Wu Wenjie, carrying a black tool bag, said, "Brother Lin, Boss Chen from Xinfa called me last night and said the goods are ready and waiting for us to inspect them."
"Thank you for your help, Brother Jie," Lin Feng said.
"Of course."
The van headed towards Longhua. There was some traffic, and it took almost two hours to reach Xinfeng Electronics Factory.
Boss Chen was already waiting at the factory gate, with Engineer Zhang standing beside him. Upon seeing the bread truck, Boss Chen greeted it with a smile.
"Boss Lin! Ah Jie! Welcome!" Boss Chen warmly shook hands with Lin Feng and Wu Wenjie.
"Please come in, please come in! The goods are all ready, just waiting for you to inspect them."
The group followed him into the warehouse.
Three hundred MP3 players have been packed into boxes and neatly stacked on wooden pallets, covered with transparent plastic film.
Before Lin Feng could speak, Wu Wenjie walked over and said, "Old Zhang, randomly pick a few boxes and open them to take a look."
"Okay, Mr. Wu."
The workers randomly selected five cardboard boxes from different locations and opened them on the spot.
The cardboard box was lined with white foam, and each MP3 player was individually wrapped in a transparent plastic bag. Wu Wenjie took out several of them.
The packaging box is a cardboard box with a simple design. The front is printed with a music festival poster-style pattern and the words "Digital Music Festival", and the side is a product information label.
Wu Wenjie opened the packaging. The MP3 player was silver-gray with a metal casing and felt quite heavy in his hand.
The back is printed with the words: Commemorative Edition of the First Xichuan University of Technology Digital Music Festival
Below is a line of small print numbering.
The characters are printed clearly, with neat edges and no burrs.
Lin Feng picked up a machine, carefully examined the silkscreen printing, and then tried out the buttons.
The buttons had a crisp feel and a strong rebound. He plugged in his headphones and turned it on. The screen lit up, displaying blue text on a white background. He found the music playlist, which contained twelve songs.
The first song is "Lilac Flower," and there are also "The First Snow of 2002," "East Wind Breaks," "Super Star," and others.
He clicked on "Lilac Flower," and the sound quality was clear with no background noise.
After listening to a short segment, he unplugged his headphones and tried a few other songs, all of which played normally.
On the other side, Wu Wenjie had already taken out a screwdriver from his toolbox and disassembled a machine. He inspected the motherboard and used a magnifying glass to examine the solder joints.
The motherboard is an Actions Semiconductor 2075 processor, the flash memory is a Samsung K9F, and the capacitors are domestically produced. The solder joints are full and there are no cold solder joints. The battery is 850 mAh.
He checked the USB port and headphone jack, and finally nodded: "The hardware is fine."
"Have all the functions been tested?" Lin Feng asked Boss Chen.
"We've tested them! Each one has been tested for 24 hours, and playback, charging, and data transfer are all normal."
Wu Wenjie said, "Boss Chen still follows the rules when doing things."
"Okay," Lin Feng said to Boss Chen. "I'll take this batch of goods. I'll pay the balance later according to the contract."
"Boss Lin is very straightforward!" Boss Chen said with a broad smile. "What's the shipping address?"
"Wang Peng, Department of Electrical Engineering, Xichuan University of Technology, Rongcheng City. I'll write down his phone number for you. Make sure the packaging is secure and send it via logistics. Send me a copy of the tracking number when it's available."
"No problem! I'll personally oversee the packing!"
After working for more than an hour, the matter was basically settled. Boss Chen insisted that they stay for lunch, but Lin Feng politely declined.
"Next time, next time I come to Shenzhen, I'll definitely have a good drink."
"Definitely! Definitely!"
On the way back, Wu Wenjie said, "Brother Lin, there's no problem with this batch of goods. If you need to place another order or have after-sales service, just let me know in advance, and I'll talk to Boss Chen."
"Okay, thank you for your help, Brother Jie."
"Your MP3 players, paired with 'Lilac Flower,' will definitely stand out at music festivals. The campus market has potential."
That evening, Lin Feng treated everyone to a meal at a restaurant in Futian, inviting Wu Wenjie, Lin Xiaoqiang, Lin Xiaowen, and Chen Weiguo.
A table full of food and two cases of beer.
Lin Feng first greeted Wu Wenjie: "Brother Jie, I'm so grateful for your help this time in Shenzhen. I'll need your help with the goods again in the future."
"Brother Lin, your business is my business. If you need anything in Shenzhen in the future, just give me a call." Wu Wenjie downed his drink in one gulp.
Lin Feng then raised a toast to Lin Xiaoqiang: "Brother Qiang, I've been in Shenzhen for the past 20 days, and you've been running around doing all this for me. Thank you for your hard work. Let me toast you!"
"Brother, there's no need for formalities. We're both from Xichuan, and you're using my car because you're doing me a favor, plus you saved Xiaowen before. I should be the one showing you respect!"
Lin Xiaoqiang was honest and straightforward. After spending the last few days getting to know Lin Feng, he felt that Lin Feng was someone worth getting to know better. He was just worried that he and his sister, who came from a poor rural background and didn't have much education, might not be able to befriend Lin Feng.
Lin Feng had a natural affinity for Lin Xiaoqiang, who had served in the military. He was reliable and dependable.
I will definitely recruit him when the opportunity arises, but now is not the time, as the business has just begun.
Lin Feng then respectfully addressed Chen Weiguo: "Brother Chen, you played a crucial role in bringing down Zhao Xiaohu this time. Please feel free to contact me if you need anything in the future."
Chen Weiguo grinned: "I'm not happy with my job as security captain. If you ever have a chance to make money in the future, remember to call me."
Lin Xiaowen remained mostly silent at the dining table. She ate her food in small bites, glancing up at Lin Feng every now and then before looking down again.
Lin Xiaoqiang pretended not to see it.
He certainly hoped that Lin Feng could become his brother-in-law, but reason told him that his sister Xiaowen and Lin Feng were not from the same world.
The next afternoon, Lin Feng was about to set off back to Chengdu.
His luggage was packed, all in one backpack. Lin Xiaoqiang drove him to the train station; Tang Lei and Wu Wenjie were there too.
The train station was crowded. Lin Feng said to Tang Lei, "See you in Chengdu. I'll let you know once the plane tickets and accommodation are booked."
"Okay. Have a safe trip." Tang Lei waved goodbye.
Finally, Lin Feng looked at Lin Xiaowen. The girl was wearing a clean, light-colored sweater today and stood next to her brother.
She suddenly stepped forward, took a small object out of her pocket, and quickly stuffed it into Lin Feng's hand.
Lin Feng looked down and saw a hand-woven red rope bracelet with a small wooden bead strung in the middle.
"Brother Feng..." Lin Xiaowen blushed slightly, "Here, have a safe journey."
After she finished speaking, she lowered her head, not daring to look Lin Feng in the eye.
"Thank you." After saying that, Lin Feng put the bracelet directly on his left wrist. The red string contrasted against his skin, and the wooden bead rested gently against his wrist bone.
When Lin Xiaowen saw the bracelet on his wrist, her face turned even redder, and she turned back to her brother's side.
The train whistle blew.
Lin Feng picked up his luggage, waved goodbye to the four of them, and then squeezed into the flow of people entering the station.
Soon after, the train started moving.
The platform outside the window slowly receded, and the lights of Shenzhen gradually faded into the distance.
