Chapter 26 Paper Publication
Chapter 26 Paper Publication
Lu Feng stood still, watching the master of electromagnetism get lost in the deduction process.
That's the nature of geniuses: once they encounter a problem that is sufficiently mind-bending, everything else is blocked out.
The blackboard was covered with a complex array of formulas, and Tesla's calculation speed had exceeded the comprehension of ordinary people.
"Sir, it seems you need some time," Lu Feng said.
Tesla didn't even turn his head, his chalk leaving a heavy white dot on the blackboard.
"I'm reconstructing this topology, and it's so interesting; it could revolutionize how energy is transmitted!"
Lu Feng smiled; he knew it was best not to disturb them now.
"Then I'll take my leave now. Feel free to message me if you have any questions."
"Go on, go on." Tesla waved his hand, grabbed the blackboard eraser with his other hand, wiped away a large area, and continued writing furiously.
Lu Feng silently told himself to quit.
The starry sky and modern rooms faded away, and the library's fluorescent lights illuminated the view once more.
Lu Feng closed the notebook on the table and stuffed it into his backpack.
He picked up his schoolbag, walked quickly down the stairs, through the tree-lined path, and headed straight for the laboratory building.
Push open the door to room 302.
The lab was quite full today.
Zhou Mingyuan was typing on the computer, Zhao Pengfei was fiddling with an oscilloscope, and Sun Hao was organizing a pile of printed drawings.
Upon hearing the door open, all three turned around simultaneously.
"Junior!" Zhou Mingyuan jumped up from his chair.
He rushed over in three strides, grabbed Lu Feng's arm, and looked him up and down.
"Are you alright? Did you lose any limbs? Have you suffered any psychological trauma from the cyberbullying?"
Zhao Pengfei put down the probe in his hand, walked over and patted Lu Feng on the shoulder.
"I was really on edge last night when I saw the messages in the group chat."
Sun Hao leaned over and handed Lu Feng a bottle of mineral water.
"Junior, you're quite the celebrity at HKU now. Don't you get mobbed on the street anymore?"
Lu Feng gave a wry smile, took the water, unscrewed the tap, took a sip, and pulled out his chair.
"I'm fine, that little noise doesn't bother me."
Zhou Mingyuan patted his chest dramatically and let out a long breath.
"I'm glad you're alright."
"Senior brother, my future wealth and glory depend entirely on clinging to your coattails!"
"I've even figured out how to brag during my graduation defense next year. I'll say I once served tea and water to my junior, Lu Feng!"
Several senior students nearby burst into laughter.
The tense atmosphere in the laboratory was completely dispelled by Zhou Mingyuan's two sentences.
"Look at you, so pathetic!"
A dignified voice came from the inner office.
Li Hongde came out carrying a thermos, glaring at Zhou Mingyuan with a stern face.
"Instead of wasting time fooling around here, you should be thinking about how to decide on your graduation project next year!"
"Look at Lu Feng, and then look at you. If this drags on any longer, I don't think you'll even pass the blind trial."
Zhou Mingyuan shrank back, sheepishly scurrying back to his seat, muttering under his breath.
"Who dares to compare themselves to a pervert?"
Li Hongde ignored him, walked to Lu Feng's table, pulled up a chair and sat down.
"The matter online is over. Someone from the school has spoken up. You can focus on your research."
"Teacher, I understand." Lu Feng took out a USB flash drive from his schoolbag.
"I've finished writing that paper, could you please take a look at it?"
Li Hongde took the USB drive and plugged it into the port on the Lufeng computer host.
"Okay, let me see."
He moved the mouse and opened the Word document on the USB drive.
Research on Strong Nonlinear Dynamic Model of Gear System Based on Fractional Calculus and Multi-Scale Perturbation Method
Li Hongde's gaze fell on the screen, and the mouse wheel slowly slid down.
The laboratory fell silent, with only the sound of the computer fans whirring.
The abstract accurately summarizes the core innovations, and the English translation is authentic and professional.
Moving on to the main text, the literature review in the introduction is well-organized and directly addresses the pain points of current research.
Li Hongde's body unconsciously leaned forward.
When he saw the model building section, the mouse slowed down.
The screen is filled with partial differential equations and matrix expansions.
Lu Feng did not simply apply the formula, but instead derived the process of eliminating the secular term in the multi-scale perturbation method using mathematical language.
In particular, the nonlinear damping term that combines the fractional derivative with the turbulence effect is a stroke of genius.
"Wow, that's amazing!" Li Hongde couldn't help but blurt out.
He paused the interface on the bifurcation diagram of the steady-state response and stared at it for a full three minutes.
The rigor of this logic is such that it would be considered a pillar even among top-tier SCI journals in Q1.
Li Hongde pushed up his gold-rimmed glasses and exhaled a long breath.
"The article's structure is sound, and its theoretical derivation is very solid."
"To be honest, the level of this paper has exceeded all my understanding of undergraduate students."
"However, before submitting to SCI journals, we need to go through a process first."
He opened his browser and skillfully logged into the internal plagiarism detection system.
"Although you came up with these yourself, the format and some common expressions still need to be checked for plagiarism to avoid being nitpicked by the editorial department."
Lu Feng nodded without saying anything.
The document was uploaded, and the system began parsing and comparing it.
Zhou Mingyuan and Zhao Pengfei also came over and stood behind Li Hongde, staring at the screen.
"Old Zhou, guess what the plagiarism rate is for Junior Brother Lu's paper?" Zhao Pengfei asked in a low voice.
"It should be at least around 10%, after all, there are so many technical terms and formulas, it's easy to get confused."
Zhou Mingyuan stroked his chin as he analyzed.
"I spent half a month painstakingly reducing the plagiarism rate of my last paper in a low-quality journal, and it only got down to 14%."
The plagiarism check progress bar is moving slowly.
Fifty percent.
Eighty percent.
hundred percent.
The screen refreshed, and a red plagiarism report popped up.
Overall text copy ratio: 1.2%.
Zhou Mingyuan rubbed his eyes and brought his face close to the screen, almost touching the monitor.
"One and a half percent?!"
Zhao Pengfei gasped, clutching his hair with both hands.
"I wrote my paper myself for a month last semester, and the plagiarism rate was still 28%."
"Is your one percent error a sign of a system malfunction?"
Li Hongde's hand trembled as he looked at the number, almost spilling the water from his thermos.
There is an unwritten rule in academia.
If the plagiarism rate is between 10% and 20%, it means you have referenced other people's literature.
If the plagiarism rate is zero, it means that the paper has virtually no academic value and is full of nonsense.
But one percent.
This means that the entire article, except for a very few law names that must be cited, is entirely original!
This is like establishing a new school of thought!
Li Hongde turned his head and looked at Lu Feng's calm face.
This kid is practically a monster born for scientific research.
"Very good." Li Hongde suppressed the turmoil in his heart.
He pointed to several places on the screen.
"The content is perfect; submit it directly to the top-tier journal in the first quartile, Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing."
"However, there are still a few minor flaws in the layout."
"The figure and chart numbers here need to be in Roman numerals, according to the journal's requirements."
"Also, the reference format is incorrect; the issue numbers for articles seven and twelfth are missing."
"Make these changes and submit it today."
Lu Feng took the mouse.
The keyboard clicks are crisp and clear.
In less than five minutes, all formatting issues were corrected.
Lu Feng opened the journal's submission system, registered an account, and filled in the author information.
First author: Lu Feng.
Corresponding author: Lu Feng.
Affiliation: School of Mechanical Engineering, City University of Hong Kong.
The attachments have been uploaded.
Lu Feng's finger hovered over the left mouse button.
He looked at the green "Submit" button on the screen.
"Go ahead and vote." Li Hongde stood behind him.
Lu Feng pressed down with his index finger.
The page redirects, and a line of bold English letters pops up in the center of the screen: "Submission Successful".
