Chapter 146 Countdown 5
Chapter 146 Countdown 5
As dawn broke, the two finally stopped.
A sliver of light shone through the gap in the curtains, hazy and with the unique chill of the early morning.
The bed was burning hot.
Lin Shuyao nestled in Cheng Zheng's arms, feeling as if she had been disassembled and then pieced back together, every inch of her bones feeling soft and yielding.
She moved her legs in a daze, and a sore and swollen feeling spread from her groin, as if something had run over it, making her feel both sore and weak.
"Hmm..." she hummed softly, her brows furrowing slightly.
Cheng Zheng turned his head to look at her, his voice slightly hoarse: "What's wrong, baby?"
"My legs are sore." Lin Shuyao said softly, her eyes closed, her fingers resting weakly on his arm. "It's all your fault, you were too rough, like a wild animal."
Cheng Zheng chuckled softly, "Baby, I wonder who's been telling me to go harder one minute and faster the next, huh?"
"You!" Lin Shuyao was so ashamed that she couldn't face him. She buried her face in his neck, her fingernails digging lightly into his muscles as she whispered a complaint, "Hmph, you actually believe what you say in bed?"
Cheng Zheng slightly curled the corners of his lips and reached down with his large hand: "Don't be angry, baby, let me rub it for you."
His palms were broad and warm, with calluses on his fingertips. He applied just the right amount of pressure to her aching muscles.
Lin Shuyao hummed contentedly, her eyes half-closed like a lazy cat.
As he moved, the blanket slipped down a little, and Lin Shuyao looked down in her daze and saw the deep and shallow marks on her body, like rose petals falling in the snow.
Her face flushed, and certain images flashed uncontrollably through her mind. The lingering tremor in her nerve endings caused her body temperature to rise again and her heart to race.
I had a blast last night.
"Where else is the baby sour?" Cheng Zheng's voice came, pulling her back to reality.
"Waist." She said softly.
Cheng Zheng moved his hand up, his palm resting on her lower back, and massaged it slowly and gently.
His technique was excellent, with even pressure. The warmth of his palms seeped through her skin, gradually relieving the soreness and swelling. Lin Shuyao groaned with pleasure.
"Cold." After rubbing for a while, she muttered again and pressed her icy feet against his calves.
Cheng Zheng gasped, startled by her coldness, but didn't flinch. He reached out and grasped her feet, warming them in his palm. Her feet were small and slender, with round, pink toes like jade beads.
Last night he held her and played with her for a long time, kissing her from her ankles to her toes. She tickled and kept trying to escape, but he held her down and wouldn't let her move, insisting on kissing her to his heart's content.
The light outside the window grew brighter and brighter, and the gray sky was slowly tinged with a faint golden hue.
Thinking about the impending separation, Lin Shuyao was wide awake and only wanted to prolong this moment they were together as much as possible.
She leaned against his arm.
I remember when they first met.
"Cheng Zheng".
"Um?"
"When I first joined the factory, you were really fierce to me."
Cheng Zheng was taken aback: "Where was he fierce?"
"You still dare to talk back." Lin Shuyao raised her head, glaring at him with her almond-shaped eyes, her gaze both reproachful and coquettish. "Knowing full well that I only have a junior high school education, you still had to embarrass me in front of so many college students, and you even forced me to cut my hair. You made me cry during military training... The way you looked at me back then was like you were looking at a class enemy."
Cheng Zheng recalled for a moment and couldn't help but laugh out loud: "Back then, I thought you were my dad's illegitimate daughter, and you looked so delicate and didn't seem like someone who came to work, so I wanted you to give up and leave on your own."
Lin Shuyao snorted: "So what now? Do you still want me to leave?"
Cheng Zheng looked down at her rosy face, his gaze burning with intense possessiveness: "Now? You're my wife now, you'll stay by my side for the rest of your life, don't even think about going anywhere else."
Lin Shuyao asked innocently, "What will you do if I run away one day?"
"Run?" The light in Cheng Zheng's eyes dimmed inch by inch. His fingers gripped her waist, tightening his grip. His voice also turned cold. "Then catch her, break her legs, and lock her up for life."
He paused, his gaze fixed on the deepest part of her eyes, and said, word by word, "Baby, you're mine for life. You're not allowed to run away, you're not allowed to go anywhere, do you hear me?"
Lin Shuyao nodded and hummed in agreement. The thought of breaking her promise made her heart clench as if something was gripping it tightly, and the pain made it difficult for her to maintain her smile.
She quickly lowered her head, shrank further into the blankets, pressed her face against his chest, and listened to his heartbeat.
Knock knock. Knock knock.
His heartbeat was steady and strong, just like him.
She closed her eyes and counted silently in her mind.
How many more times can I listen to it?
she does not know.
"Cheng Zheng, your heart is beating so fast."
Cheng Zheng gently rubbed her head and said in a low voice, "Baby, it would be strange if my heart didn't race when you're clinging to me like this."
"I feel like you're acting a little different today than usual."
"Really? How is it different?" Lin Shuyao asked.
Cheng Zheng couldn't quite put his finger on it, but he felt that her thoughts were particularly jumpy and she was talking a lot today.
"I guess I was too excited, thinking that we're about to get our marriage certificate." Lin Shuyao explained with a smile, and with that energy, she got up again, cupped his face in her hands, and looked at it inch by inch.
Thick, dark eyebrows, deep, pool-like eyes, a high, straight nose, and thin, pursed lips… She stared at him for a long time, so long that Cheng Zheng became somewhat uneasy, before she finally smiled and her eyes crinkled.
"Cheng Zheng, you are so handsome."
She looked at him intently, her voice soft: "I thought you were beautiful the first time I saw you. You came down from the office building with a cold face and a fierce look, but I just thought you were beautiful. My heart skipped a beat."
"Later, you helped me pick up the rubber band, and I thought, this person may be fierce, but he's not a bad person at heart." Her voice seemed to be talking to herself. "Later, we ate noodles at the same stall, and I thought maybe something would happen between us. I never thought we would actually get together."
She looked tenderly into his eyes.
"Cheng Zheng, I don't think I've ever seriously told you this before—"
"I like you."
Four words, as light as a feather, but as heavy as a thousand pounds when they reached his ears.
Cheng Zheng's breathing suddenly became heavier, his Adam's apple bobbed violently, and the veins on the side of his neck throbbed faintly.
He propped himself up and looked down at her, his eyes churning with unspoken emotions.
"Baby, you really don't want to sleep tonight, do you?"
Lin Shuyao's almond-shaped eyes were watery, like they held a pool of spring water that couldn't be melted. Looking into his eyes, her red lips parted slightly, and her voice was soft and charming, like a feather brushing against his heart, "Hmm, I don't want to sleep, let's do it."
As she spoke, she reached down with her little hand and grasped it.
The string in Cheng Zheng's mind snapped.
"Fairy".
The two words were practically ground out from between her teeth, their hot breath spraying onto her lips.
Then, he lowered his head and kissed her fiercely.
