Chapter 101: TECHNIQUE
Chapter 101: TECHNIQUE
Before Lilura could ask a question, Silas struck.
A sheath appeared in his side and he sheathed his sword in a flash.
"I would just beat it into your head," he said, getting into stance, fists in front of his head.
Lilura looked at him with a cold smile.
"You think I am Billie?" She asked, a slightly amused chuckle escaping her lips.
"Using your fist only draws the unec."
Silas said nothing.
He let his fists do the talking as he lunged upward, reaching her in a breath.
His fist shot forward, spiralling as aether surged through it in uncontrollable bursts.
Lilura moved to meet him, her fists exploding forward as a dense layer of aether pressed against her fist, concentrated and far more potent than Silas’s wild aether.
The fists collided.
A tremor swept through the air, destabilizing the very space they hovered in.
They were not done.
Their other fists moved in tandem, their bodies responding as if controlled by a singular mind.
The air detonated.
A violent detonation that came from something that couldn’t hold up any longer.
Their bodies were blasted far apart, crossing vast distances in a single burst.
They stabilized, almost at the same time.
Lilura smiled lightly.
Her body slanted horizontally as a platform, made entirely of aether, formed beneath her feet.
Using the platform as a boost, her body ripped forward, like a bullet.
Before Silas could even blink or raise his guard, her fist was already planted in his face.
Silas’s body was hurled through the air as the wind roared from the force of impact.
Blood trailed through the air as he passed through it.
His body stopped hundreds of meters away.
His hand moved to his lips.
Liquid, thick and sticky flowed from the sides.
Calmly, he cleaned it with the back of his palm.
His gaze locked on Lilura.
A flicker and he was gone.
Silas punched at Lilura’s head, aether shooting out in a large, concentrated ray along its path.
Lilura had stepped out of the attack’s range before it fully formed, her body whipping sideways as the attack brushed her hair.
Silas body bent, narrowly avoiding Lilura’s kick.
He drove his hand up, towards her jaw in the next instant.
Lilura stepped back, then jumped in again, this time coming with a straight hook.
Silas caught the arm with his left hand, his right one moving simultaneously in a straight jab at her head.
The punch connected, creating a tremor in the air.
Silas caught her by the leg before she could fly far.
"Why don’t we play on the ground for a while?" Silas said, pulling her body closer from the ankle.
His fist smashed into her chest, her body folding inward as all the air in her mouth was forced out through her throat.
She tore down into the earth.
A quake rippled outward from the earth as she collapsed into it.
Silas was already following, his body plummeting, with his legs crashing into her stomach.
An explosion echoed through the air, seemingly stopping everything in the area as Silas met resistance.
He looked down.
Lilura stared back, with a crazed grin.
"What? You think that was enough to put me down?" She asked, her palm tightening against his ankles.
Silas shook his head, bringing his other leg in response.
Lilura released his ankle and rolled, the second leg cratering the earth beside her head.
She came up from the roll already swinging, her fist catching Silas across the jaw before he could fully regain his stance.
His head snapped to the side.
Lilura did not stop, her other fist drove into his wrist, then she grabbed his shoulder and pulled him downward into her rising knee.
The knee connected with his stomach, strong and brutal as the air in his lungs rushed out.
Silas grabbed her knee before she could pull it back and twisted it.
Her eyes flicked towards his body but it was too late, he threw her sideways, her body crashing into the penthouse.
The earth craved from the impact.
Silas looked at her body on the floor, almost lifeless.
But he knew, from their exchange, this was just a facade, one created not because she wanted to, but because it was already a part of her.
"Funny how you were are this strong," Silas said, his hand resting on the hilt of his katana, sheathed beside him.
Lilura smiled. "You think I became the leader of an organisation as powerful as Crimson Fang on pure tactics?" She asked those questions as she pushed herself up.
Silas shook his head.
"Too bad you have to die here," Silas said.
His sheath had begun to hum gently from the aether he was pouring into it.
Lilura noticed it but she ignored it, completely.
"Just know that even if I die today, you can’t be the one to kill me," Lilura scoffed.
"Oh, is that what you think?" Silas asked with furrowed brows, straightening his posture, hand still resting on the hilt of his blade.
Lilura shook her head.
"I don’t know how much confidence you have in that technique of yours but it is not enough to kill me."
Silas smiled.
"Know that your pride led to your downfall."
Before Lilura could speak, Silas drew his sword.
"Empty Reversing Draw."
He drew his sword out in a flash.
Lilura’s body went against her will.
As if a force was moving her, she jerked forward, her body bursting through towards Silas’s blade.
Rip.
The sound of flesh tearing reverberated, then silence.
Before another explosion.
From the point of the blade, everything burst out again.
Lilura’s body exploded from that point, into a mess of gore and blood that splattered on Silas’s clothes.
Silas was too focused on the power of the technique that he even forgot about Lilura.
The technique he had fused a few days ago turned out to be this helpful, even after he thought it was weak.
"Silas."
The words echoed, reverberatin
g in the air.
Silas looked around but found no one.
"Why does it sound like her voice?" He wondered aloud.
Just then, black flames began to split through the air.
