Chapter 138 Hot Spring Idiot
After taking a short nap at noon, Xia Li got out of bed and sat by the window in a daze. She rubbed her thighs, which were a little sore but felt warm and comfortable.
Squeak—
There was the sound of a door opening.
"Aren't you asleep?" Xia Li turned her head. Song Che had just returned from outside, seemingly having gone for a walk, and was carrying a bag.
"I'm not very sleepy." Song Che sat down beside him. "Did you sleep well? Do you want to keep sleeping, or go play?"
"Okay, I'm rested enough. I want to keep playing." Xia Li put on her coat. "Let's go to the middle slope; we can go faster there."
Xia Li somewhat enjoys this kind of exciting sport. Unlike riding a broom, this one is more nerve-wracking. You can feel the wind rushing past your face, and you might fall. You need to be careful to maintain your balance at all times.
She felt she could play for another afternoon.
Xia Li genuinely played all afternoon, and Song Che accompanied her. Both were beginners and were very enthusiastic about what they were learning.
Once you start playing something, it's endless. Even in the evening, while Zhang Hanyu and Jiang Shuo were resting, the two of them were still happily skating around.
"Do you think they're tired?" Jiang Shuo leaned against the railing, glancing at his phone. "They've been skating for three hours straight without rest. How can they have so much stamina?"
"I already said they're building up their relationship, so let's just wait and see," Zhang Hanyu said calmly. "It's their first time playing together, and they want to play as much as they want. That's how beginners are."
"Punishment."
Just as Jiang Shuo was about to find a place to sit down and begin the long wait, Song Che and Xia Li slid up to him from not far away.
"It's getting late, let's go back."
"Are you done playing?"
"Yeah, I'm a little tired," Song Che said honestly, adding that he was almost too tired to skate anymore.
I didn't feel anything while playing, but once I stopped, my body started to feel sluggish, my whole body felt weak, my breathing became a little rapid, and I needed to rest.
Xia Li, on the other hand, had a different feeling. She felt energetic all over, especially in her legs, which felt warm and full of power, like Hitler's warrior promotion. She felt that she was about to be promoted to a first-level warrior.
She became even more determined to exercise.
There was also the idea of having Song Che train his body.
She held onto this idea until after dinner, when she returned to the hotel and sat on the bed, her legs suddenly wouldn't obey her commands.
Xia Li still wanted to go out and play.
The dead leg remained motionless.
My legs feel so tired, I don't want to move.
I exceeded my exercise limit today.
Strictly speaking, without proper planning and excessive exercise, it can harm the body. Overusing muscles without relaxation can lead to muscle strain.
"Shall we go to the hot springs later?" Song Che's legs were feeling better, and his body felt the same way, though he was a little tired.
"Tired." Xia Li uttered a single word; she was too exhausted to speak.
"I'm tired, so I'll go to the hot spring to relax."
Xia Li sat on the edge of the bed, looking down at her legs.
My legs are still there, but they don't feel like my own anymore.
She tried to move her toes, and they moved. Then she tried to lift her lower leg, and it lifted a little, but when it fell, it hit the edge of the bed with a dull thud.
It doesn't hurt, it just won't obey my commands.
Song Che watched from the side, wanting to laugh but holding it back.
Xia Li looked up at him, her expression somewhat blank. "My legs aren't moving."
"I'm exhausted," Song Che said. "Do you know how long you skated this afternoon?"
"how long?"
"From 2 p.m. to almost 6 p.m., more than three hours, I only took two breaks in between, each lasting less than ten minutes."
Xia Li did the math, then looked down and continued looking at her legs.
My legs are still not moving, similar to the knee pillow incident last time; I don't want to move.
"We can just soak in the hot spring later." Song Che stood up, rummaged through his bag for his own bathrobe and swimsuit, then looked at Xia Li. "Do you think you'd want to wear these clothes?"
Xia Li shook her head.
"What should we do then?"
Xia Li thought for a moment, "Wear clothes while soaking?"
"You can't wear clothes at the hot spring."
Why?
"Regulation."
Xia Li thought for a moment, then said, "Then I won't go, you go."
Song Che looked at her. "Are you alone in the room?"
"Um."
"Aren't you bored?"
"Tired." Xia Li uttered another word, then collapsed onto the bed, her head hitting the pillow, her silver hair spreading out and covering the bed.
Song Che stood there for two seconds, put his swim trunks back, and sat down on the edge of the bed. "Then I won't go either."
Xia Li turned her head to look at him, "Why?"
"I'll stay with you."
"Need not."
"I want to stay with you."
Xia Li stared at him for a while, then lay down for a few more minutes before suddenly sitting up.
"What's wrong?" Song Che asked.
"Let's go to the hot springs."
"Your leg moved?"
"I didn't move." Xia Li looked down at her legs. "But I want to go."
Song Che smiled. "Then what about your leg?"
Xia Li thought for a moment, then stretched out her hands, "Pull me up."
Song Che stood up and reached out to pull her along. Xia Li used the leverage to stand up, her legs wobbling slightly before she regained her balance. She tried to take a couple of steps, her steps very small, like walking on cotton, but she could walk.
"I can walk," she said.
"Then let's go." Song Che picked up his swim trunks. "What are you wearing?"
Xia Li looked down at her clothes. "This won't do?"
"no."
Xia Li thought for a moment, "Let me see yours again."
"Okay, it's not really that revealing. It has a skirt and it's a one-piece dress, so it just shows your legs."
Xia Li thought for a moment, then looked at Song Che, "Can I wear stockings?"
'
Song Che looked at her.
Xia Li looked at him, her eyes clear, showing no sign that she was trying to make things difficult for him.
In a hot spring—you wouldn't wear a swimsuit and stockings at the same time, would you?
Besides, wearing stockings is more alluring than not wearing them!
Song Che was silent for two seconds. "Actually, you can try it first. You can't wear stockings in the hot spring."
"Then I'll give it a try."
Xia Li fiddled around in the bathroom for a while before finally poking her head out. "Okay, but I want to wear stockings before getting in the water."
Song Che shook his head. "You can wear a bathrobe before going into the water."
"----oh."
The hot spring was on the first floor of the hotel. To get down from the room, you had to walk through a corridor and then take an elevator down one floor. Xia Li walked very slowly, her legs feeling like unfamiliar friends who needed to be reacquainted with each other.
Song Che walked beside her, carrying two bags: one containing his own swim trunks, and the other containing Xia Li's one-piece dress, which was light-colored and simply designed.
The elevator was empty. Xia Li leaned against the elevator wall and looked up at the floor numbers changing.
"Are your legs still sore?" Song Che asked.
"It's sour," Xia Li said, "but it's hot and comforting."
"That's what happens when you overdo it."
Are you sour?
"acid."
"Let's soak together."
The elevator doors opened, and at the end of the corridor hung a lightbox with the words "Hot Spring" on it. The light shone on the carpet, and the air began to smell of sulfur.
The receptionist was an older woman in a uniform, her hair pulled back tightly. She glanced at the two room cards, handed them two wristbands, and pointed inside, saying, "Go straight in, turn left for men, turn right for women. When you come out, exchange your wristband for your shoes. Please remember to follow the rules of the public hot spring."
Xia Li took the card, looked down at it, and saw that it was made of blue plastic with numbers printed on it.
"See you later," Song Che said.
"Um."
The two walked inside and parted ways at the corner. Xia Li turned right and pushed open a glass door leading to a changing room.
The changing room was warmer than I expected; the underfloor heating was on, and my feet felt hot underfoot. The lockers were rows of wooden doors with numbers on them. Xia Li found the corresponding locker, opened it, and found it empty with clothes hangers on a horizontal rod.
She stood there for two seconds, then started taking off her clothes.
She moved slowly because her legs wouldn't obey her commands, and she needed to hold onto the cabinet door when bending over. She took off her coat and hung it inside, then her shirt and hung it inside. Her pants were a bit tight, and she swayed a little when she took them off, only managing to steady herself by holding onto the cabinet door.
She was left with the fleece-lined stockings, which she had wanted to wear inside, but the rules didn't allow it.
It's easy to take off; just roll it up and pull it down.
After taking off her socks, she stood up straight and glanced at herself in the mirror inside the closet.
The person in the mirror had loose silver hair and was still wearing the quick-drying clothes they wore while skiing that morning.
She also took off her quick-drying clothes.
The person in the mirror was completely exposed.
Xia Li stared at herself in the mirror for a while, then looked down at herself.
She didn't care much about her figure; no one mentioned it back in Hit. Witches discussed things like magic purity and magic level.
When it comes to drug formulations, nobody talks about body shape. She herself hadn't thought about that issue either; the body is for wearing clothes, and clothes are for covering the body and fitting the occasion, nothing more.
The swimsuit was light-colored, made of a very soft and smooth material. She unpacked it and found it was a two-piece set: one top was like a vest, and the other bottom was like shorts, with an elastic band around the waistband and a small silver logo on it.
It took me a bit of effort to put it on; I couldn't lift my legs, so I had to sit on the bench and slowly put it on. After I finished, I stood up and looked at myself in the mirror again.
The fabric clung to her body, covering everything that needed to be covered, but it was a bit too tight, accentuating her body's lines and making her look somewhat unfamiliar to herself.
It seems a little different from usual.
But she couldn't quite put her finger on what was different.
Fortunately, her lower body was covered by her skirt, and only her white legs made her feel somewhat exposed.
There were voices outside; they must be other guests. Xia Li closed the cabinet door, took a bath towel and draped it over her shoulders, then pushed open the door at the other end of the changing room.
A wave of heat hit my face.
Inside was an indoor pool, steaming with light. Lights were embedded in the ceiling, casting dappled shadows on the water. The pool was made of stone, with rounded edges, and several wooden basins floated on the surface, containing towels and wooden ladles for scooping water.
There was a row of faucets against the wall, and below them were wooden tubs where people were sitting and washing themselves.
Xia Li stood by the pool, stretched out her foot to test the water temperature, and then pulled it back in.
It's hot.
But after a while, I felt inexplicably comfortable.
She tentatively went into the water and finally sat on the stone steps by the pool, where the water was just up to her chest.
The heat made my face feel hot, my silver hair hung down, the ends of which were wet and stuck to my shoulders, and my whole body began to warm up.
Xia Li closed her eyes.
The next room should be the men's changing room, separated by a wall. Occasionally, she could hear voices. Song Che hadn't come out yet. She tried to hear Song Che's voice, but there was none. Maybe he wasn't speaking.
After soaking for five minutes, her legs started to react, feeling sore and numb. Xia Li unconsciously rubbed them.
Someone went into the water nearby; it was a middle-aged woman with curly hair and a towel draped around her neck. She glanced at Xia Li, her gaze lingering on Xia Li's silver hair for a moment before looking away and sitting on the other side of the pool.
Xia Li didn't pay attention and continued to close her eyes.
After soaking for another ten minutes, her legs were completely healed. She stood up, the water cascading down her body with a splashing sound. The woman glanced at her again, this time her gaze drifting downwards before shifting away.
Xia Li looked down at herself, not noticing anything special, then put on a bath towel and pushed open the other door, which led to an open-air pool.
As soon as the door opened, cold air rushed in, colliding with the heat on my body, raising goosebumps.
The open-air pond wasn't large, only a dozen square meters, surrounded by stones and planted with bamboo around it, the bamboo leaves swaying gently in the night breeze. The water in the pond was warmer than indoors, the steam rising and condensing into white mist in the cool air, which then drifted up and was dispersed by the wind.
There were stars in the sky, not many, just a few scattered, but they were bright.
Xia Li walked across the stone slabs, her feet feeling a little cold. She quickly stepped into the pool. When the water reached her thighs, she took a breath.
It's warmer than indoors, but you'll get used to it in a few seconds.
She found a corner to sit down, leaned against a rock, and looked up at the stars.
The wind blows, the bamboo leaves rustle, and some of the steam on the water's surface is dispersed, revealing the water underneath, which then gathers back together.
After soaking for a while, I heard some noise nearby.
It was the sound of footsteps, softly stepping on the stone slabs.
Xia Li turned her head to look.
Song Che was walking out of the room, wrapped in a bath towel, when he walked to the edge of the pool, glanced down, and then saw her.
"Here it is," Xia Li said.
Song Che walked over and went into the water next to her. He paused when the water reached his chest; it must have been scalding.
The two stood side by side against the rock, with an arm's length between them.
"How's your leg?" Song Che asked.
"It's all right now," Xia Li said. "You can move now."
"That's fine then."
Xia Li turned her head to look at him. His face was a little red in the heat, and his hair was wet and stuck to his forehead.
Song Che didn't speak, but turned back to look ahead. There were bamboo trees in front of him, their leaves rustling in the wind.
Xia Li turned back and continued to look at the stars.
After soaking for a while, Song Che suddenly asked, "Is the swimsuit suitable?"
"It fits." Xia Li looked down at herself. "It's just a little tight."
"It's normal for them to be tight; swimsuits are all tight."
Why?
"It's too loose and water got in."
Xia Li thought about it and felt it made sense, so she didn't ask any more questions.
After soaking for a while, she moved closer to Song Che. Song Che didn't move, but she felt the muscles in his arm tense up.
"Are you cold?" Song Che asked.
"cold.
You're so cold!
Song Che didn't speak, but he relaxed his arm, wanting to see what Xia Li was going to do.
In broad daylight, are you trying to act like a hooligan?
A little while later, Zhang Hanyu and Jiang Shuo arrived. The two had just gone out for a stroll and were only now returning. Xia Li wouldn't stoop to such a lewd act; she probably saw some silly messages on her phone again and was preparing to try acting like a fool herself.
Xia Li spoke up as expected. She looked at Song Che and said, "Song Che, do you think it's okay for a girlfriend to act cute or ask her boyfriend to act cute? Are these things permissible?"
"If you want me to act cute right now, that's impossible. This is a public bath; there will be more people later."
"—Oh." Xia Li began, "So, if a boyfriend always treats his girlfriend with utmost respect, does that mean he doesn't like her?"
"That's called respect."
"————Oh." Xia Li shook her head. "I think you're wrong."
