Chapter 377: Economic Symposium
Chapter 377: Economic Symposium
After the meal, Yao Haifeng successfully arranged to meet Yu Wei through Huang Xiaochuan, which made him extremely happy. As long as he could get Yu Wei on his side, it would be the same as getting Tang Yuan'an on his side. This guy was Tang Yuan'an's brother-in-law, and he had already found out about him.
Yao Haifeng never expected that he had put a noose around his own neck.
Huang Xiaochuan stopped worrying about what would happen after that; he just needed to wait for the outcome.
That day, he was summoned to Wang Deyi's office.
After greeting Wang Deyi's assistant, Xu Hui, Huang Xiaochuan entered Wang Deyi's office as if he knew the way well.
"Sir, what do you need me for? Didn't I hand over my thesis to you?"
Wang Deyi glared at his wayward disciple with displeasure: "I never see you all day long. Asking you to come here is like I owe you eight strings of cash. I just don't understand, who's the teacher and who's the student here?"
Huang Xiaochuan quickly laughed it off, saying, "Of course you're my teacher and I'm your student. Besides, even though I'm not at school, I'm diligently studying and researching the topics you gave me every day!"
Wang Deyi glared at his wayward disciple again: "Go back and get ready. You're coming with me to Guangzhou the day after tomorrow for an economic symposium. Give your ID card to Xiao Xu later so he can book your plane ticket."
"No problem, is that all? You can just have Xu Hui call me. I'll arrange the plane tickets, you don't need to worry about it."
"So you think you're richer than me, huh?"
"You were absolutely right, I am indeed richer than you!"
Look how hateful those words are! Enraged, Wang Deyi searched around for a suitable weapon to teach this wicked disciple a lesson.
Seeing this, Huang Xiaochuan knew that now was the time to leave, so he quickly ran out, making sure to tell Xu Hui before he left.
"I'll arrange the plane tickets. Just send me the old man's name and your ID number on my pager later."
When the three of them arrived at the airport that day, Wang Deyi and Xu Hui felt something was wrong. Generally, the procedure is to first check in at the check-in counter to drop off your luggage and get your boarding pass, then go through security and enter the waiting hall to wait for notification to check in and board the plane.
Today, the airport sent people to conduct a security check on the three of them first, and then arranged a van to take them, along with their luggage, to a small jet plane.
Wang Deyi and Xu Hui were both stunned. What was going on?
After handing his luggage to the flight attendant, Huang Xiaochuan said to the two stunned people, "Hurry up and get on! Haven't you ever seen an airplane before?"
Look at what you're saying! That foul mouth of yours is so hateful.
In front of outsiders, the old man wanted to maintain his composure, so he didn't lower himself to the level of this unfilial disciple.
After snorting, he boarded the plane with his hands behind his back, followed closely by Huang Xiaochuan and Xu Hui.
Once everyone had arrived, the plane closed its doors and taxied toward the runway.
The old man was taken aback; it turned out that there were only three of them on the plane, not counting the crew.
"This is the plane ticket you bought?" Wang Deyi looked at his wicked disciple in shock.
"Yes! My mom said that when you're traveling, you should be frugal at home but generous on the road. Don't be stingy with money, or you'll suffer." Huang Xiaochuan said confidently.
This remark almost made the flight attendant burst out laughing.
Xu Hui sat contentedly in the spacious airline seat, his curious eyes looking around, finding everything pleasant. He knew that this disciple of Old Wang was wealthy, but he had never seen him spend extravagantly. However, the tea he sent was always quite expensive, which attracted many old professors, including the principal, to come to Old Wang's place to drink tea whenever they had the chance.
Professor Dong was the most outrageous. Not only did he freeload, but he also took some with him every time. It was only when these tea connoisseurs talked about these teas that he realized how expensive they were, comparable to gold. That's how he learned that Professor Wang's disciple was actually very wealthy.
I've really seen something new today. The way rich people travel is just different. I can brag about this for half a year when I get back.
Wang Deyi asked, "How much?"
Huang Xiaochuan blinked: "What? You're planning to reimburse me?"
Wang Deyi twisted his neck and turned his gaze to the window. He realized that discussing money with this wicked disciple was simply self-torture.
The flight from Shanghai to Guangzhou only took two or three hours. During the flight, the three of them enjoyed a large meal on the plane. It was then that Wang Deyi and Xu Hui realized that airplane meals could be so luxurious, instead of just a boxed meal like fast food.
Upon arriving in Guangzhou, the three of them boarded a business vehicle provided by the organizers and headed to the venue for the economic symposium, the Guangzhou Garden Hotel.
This hotel is one of the most luxurious five-star hotels in Guangzhou, on par with the White Swan Hotel. Huang Xiaochuan saw what is said to be the largest mural in all of Asia here, and the hotel's name was even inscribed by Liao Chengzhi. The hotel was built according to the characteristics of Lingnan gardens, which Huang Xiaochuan liked very much.
In April, Guangzhou is full of spring, and the temperature is much higher than in Shanghai. The hotel boasts a 20,000-square-meter garden landscape and several very beautiful restaurants with stunning views of the garden while dining.
However, Huang Xiaochuan was not very satisfied with the rooms. The organizers had arranged standard rooms, but Huang Xiaochuan didn't even say hello and went straight to the front desk to book three executive suites, one for each of the three of them.
Because of the prior charter flight, Wang Deyi was no longer surprised by Huang Xiaochuan's actions. He knew that his wayward disciple had already restrained himself, and it was already a favor that he hadn't gotten himself a luxury suite.
Zhou Wei and his group arrived a day early and had already settled in. Huang Xiaochuan planned to arrange a plane to send the old man and Xu Hui back to Shanghai after the symposium, while he planned to go to Hong Kong.
Not long after, the second senior brother, Jiang Qiming, arrived. He had also been invited to attend this economic symposium. After arriving, he saw the names of Wang Deyi and Huang Xiaochuan and went to their rooms to look for them. The result was obvious, as they had been moved to different rooms.
However, Jiang Qiming was smart enough to immediately go to the front desk and ask for Wang Deyi and Huang Xiaochuan's room numbers, which led him to them.
After entering the room, Jiang Qiming glanced around and kept clicking his tongue, saying, "Compared to your room, mine feels like a guesthouse."
Huang Xiaochuan glanced at the room and said dismissively, "It's alright! It's just a bit bigger and has a living room."
In fact, for Huang Xiaochuan, who had stayed in countless luxury hotels in his previous life, the facilities in this hotel suite were just so-so. The only thing he was satisfied with was that the hotel had a garden.
