Chapter 10 The Magician's Speech
Chapter 10 The Magician's Speech
The College of Babylon, the College Hall.
Seeing the stiff smile on the face of the blue-haired boy who had been mocking him, Damian turned his head and let out a long sigh of relief.
That was close; I almost got bullied at school.
Indeed, the ancients were right: beautiful women often bring disaster.
Just as Damian was contemplating whether he should try to keep his distance from Veronica in the future, he suddenly heard the girl beside him exclaim in surprise:
"Brother Damian, look! It's the Magician coming out! He's a high-ranking demon who's already advanced to the seventh rank!"
Veronica clung to Damian's arm, her face beaming with excitement. She looked exactly like a girl going to a concert with her boyfriend and seeing a star appear.
hiss!
Damian gasped as he felt a tingling, electric-like softness emanating from his arm.
He originally wanted to pull his arm out, but unfortunately... it wouldn't listen!
Damian could only force himself to shift his attention and look at the stage in the center of the auditorium with Veronica.
His position was at least several hundred meters away from the podium. If he were still severely nearsighted, he probably would have only been able to see a blurry image even with his glasses on.
But after taking the life potion, his eyesight seemed to have improved significantly, so he could easily see a person standing quietly on the high platform.
The man was dressed in a black tailcoat, wearing a black top hat and white gloves. Beneath the hat was a handsome face, and he was looking down at the countless students who were eagerly waiting.
No one noticed when he arrived there.
The moment Damian saw the other person's face, he was so shocked he almost jumped out of his seat.
It's him!
It's that magician!
That guy used the pretense of going to university abroad to kidnap him from his parents and sell him to hell for two million.
Although he hasn't been mistreated since he went to hell, that doesn't change the fact that the other party is a dead fraud!
"Brother Damian, do you know Lord Sean?"
Seeing the uncertain expression on the boy's face beside her, Veronica cautiously inquired.
"Of course we know each other. We've been on a world tour together," Damian said through gritted teeth.
Together, they traveled from the human world to hell.
Seemingly sensing the resentment in Damian's tone, Veronica wisely refrained from pressing further and obediently kept quiet.
However, deep down she was even more convinced of Damian's identity as a nobleman of the demon gods, and felt even more awe towards him.
After all, even for high-level demons, traversing the world is a risky endeavor.
Traveling the world with a junior who has no combat ability is something usually only two people with a very close relationship would do.
With Lord Sean holding a high position of power at Babylon Academy, and given Damian's connection to him, it's easy to imagine that he'll be living a very comfortable life in the future.
Just then, the magician, who had been standing quietly on the stage for a long time, made a new move.
"Shh." He put a finger to his lips.
The school auditorium, which had been bustling with noise, fell completely silent in the next moment, so quiet that you could hear your own heartbeat.
This wasn't because these young devils were so respectful to their elders, but because as the magician did this, an immense pressure instantly enveloped the entire school auditorium.
All the demons in the seats were so intimidated by this oppressive aura that they were unable to move and trembled with fear.
"Is this the oppressive power of a higher demon? How terrifying..."
Veronica felt as if she were on the verge of death, her heart pounding wildly as if it would burst out of her chest.
"How are you?"
Seeing the girl beside him was pale and even had fine beads of sweat on her forehead, Damian couldn't help but ask with concern.
Veronica nodded with difficulty to indicate that she was alright. Looking at the black-haired boy beside her, who seemed completely unaffected by the pressure, she couldn't help but feel a deep sense of admiration.
As expected of Lord Damian!
...
Yes, only intimidation can keep these demon cubs quiet and listen to him speak.
Looking at the auditorium before him, where even a pin drop could be heard and everyone was sitting properly in their seats, Sean's face showed a hint of satisfaction.
"Ahem." He cleared his throat with two dry coughs and then began his speech.
"Good morning, new students. I am En, the Director of Admissions at Babylon Academy. You may also call me by another name—'The Magician'."
"First of all, I want to congratulate you..." The magician paused deliberately.
"You have successfully entered the most prestigious academy in the Ring of Pride, and indeed in the entire Seven Rings of Hell—Babylon!"
"This is the highest academy of hell, established by the personal instruction of His Majesty Lucifer (his son), who was once the most supreme being."
"When you go through layers of selection, eliminate countless competitors, and receive a golden admission letter to step into this place, it means that you have a ticket to the upper level."
"After all, in Hell, apart from a very few devil nobles who are born destined for high positions, the vast majority of demons can only remain mediocre in the lowest lesser devil rank for their entire lives."
"Only Babylon, and only Babylon, can allow even the lowest-ranking demons to one day become noble lords, ruling over their subjects, being addressed as 'Sir' by other demons in awe, and enjoying the service of female demons."
"Fate may not have given you a grand road, but Babylon can let you stand tall and bravely give fate the middle finger, Fac!
"Newborn students, the future belongs to you!"
The magician looked up at the dome, raised his arms, and spoke in a voice as loud as a morning bell.
The moment the words left his mouth... nothing happened.
Ok? !
Sean was somewhat dissatisfied. He had revised the speech for a long time and even borrowed from speeches at some human universities, but these demon brats didn't react at all. It was too unsatisfying.
Damn it, just wait till school starts and I'll get my hands on you guys!
and many more...
Just as the magician was grinding his teeth in anticipation of unleashing a major surprise after school started, he suddenly realized something.
He seems to have forgotten to release the pressure.
Snapped.
The magician snapped his fingers as soon as he came to his senses.
The moment afterward, the once still academy auditorium erupted into chaos, as if a hot iron had been thrown into a pool of water.
"Oh, oh, oh! Long live Babylon! I, your humble servant, will defy fate and become the Demon Lord!"
"I...I don't want to become a demon lord, I just want to bring happiness to my family."
"Tch, you two good-for-nothings. I came here to become a supreme high demon like Lord Sean."
"It's a pity I didn't record Lord Sean's speech on my phone, otherwise I would have gained a lot of followers if I posted it on the Show Crime Wall."
"Hehe, luckily I turned on the camera beforehand."
