Chapter 86 How did I end up in your bed?
The next morning, Reba was awakened by the chirping of birds outside her window.
She groggily opened her eyes and found that her hands and legs were warm, and Su Yu's profile was less than a few centimeters away from her. Her mind, which had just woken up, went blank for a few seconds.
Then she abruptly pulled her hands and legs away from Su Yu, which were wrapped around him like an octopus, and sat up, the blanket slipping off her body.
She looked down at herself; her nightgown was still intact, her cardigan was still on, and there was nothing wrong with her at all.
But why was she sleeping in Su Yu's bed?
She tried hard to recall, but only some vague fragments came to mind. She only remembered sitting on the sofa watching Su Yu read a book, and then nothing more.
Su Yu was awakened by her noise.
He opened his eyes and saw Reba holding the blanket up to her chest with both hands, her face as red as a crab just pulled out of a steamer. She was both ashamed and bewildered, her lips opening and closing several times before she finally managed to utter a single sentence:
"How...how did I get into your bed?!"
"You fell asleep by yourself last night, so I carried you up here."
Su Yu yawned, his tone indifferent, and casually pointed out the window:
"Hey, the weather's nice today."
"Hong Dan! Then why... why didn't you send me back?!"
Do you have your room key with you?
Dilraba paused for a moment, then looked down and touched the pocket of her cardigan—it was empty. She then touched the pocket of her nightgown, which was also empty.
She then realized that she had left in such a hurry last night that she had only taken her phone with her, and her room key was still on the table in her room.
"Hong Dan! You touched it!"
Su Yu shrugged noncommittally: "You can't just wait for the room key to fall out of your pocket by itself, can you?"
"Then why didn't you wake me up?"
"You were sleeping so soundly, I didn't have the heart to wake you, it was my fault."
Su Yu sat up, leaned against the headboard, and winked at Dilraba.
"snort!"
Looking at Su Yu's face in the morning light, Reba suddenly couldn't stay angry and could only let out a heavy snort.
However, the blush on her face deepened, because she seemed to be facing a more serious problem: she had spent the night in Su Yu's room.
Why are you looking at me like that?
Feeling uneasy under Dilraba's gaze, Su Yu asked.
"Hey! I slept here last night, what if someone finds out?"
"You didn't do anything."
Su Yu said calmly, "I'm not going to tell anyone, so who would know?"
"I didn't do anything!" Dilraba suddenly sounded a little breathless. "Yeah, I was already in your bed, why didn't you do anything?!"
Su Yu turned to look at her, seemingly incredulous: "Say it again? I didn't quite hear you."
Seeing Su Yu suddenly become energetic, Reba wrapped herself in the blanket tighter with fear.
Su Yu grinned mischievously, then suddenly pulled off the blanket covering her and pressed himself against Reba, who was as gentle as a lamb.
"Yes, yes, what do you want to do?"
"What do you think?" Su Yu pinched her cheek and continued to tease her.
"But it's getting late, shouldn't we be leaving soon?"
Su Yu nodded, but his body didn't react. Dilraba looked at Su Yu, who was so close to her, and her breathing became heavier and heavier.
Finally, Su Yu leaned down and gently touched Reba's lips. "Let's go, let's go downstairs and have a meal together. If we don't leave now, they'll really find out."
"Su Yu!!!"
After Reba got up, she bit Su Yu hard on the shoulder.
"Ouch! That hurts!"
Reba bit for several seconds before she could barely suppress her emotions, while a deep mark was already left on Su Yu's shoulder.
Fortunately, there weren't many people in the corridor. Dilraba tiptoed back to her room, quickly changed her clothes, and then slipped out again.
When she arrived at the breakfast restaurant downstairs, Su Yu was already sitting by the window, and Lu Han was there too.
He was wearing a baseball cap today, the brim pulled low, and he was engrossed in eating a bowl of wontons.
Seeing Dilraba walk over, he looked up and greeted her, but then noticed that Su Yu didn't react at all, and his eyes darted back and forth between Dilraba and Su Yu.
Dilraba's face still had a faint blush, and she had light dark circles under her eyes. Her overall state was somewhere between not fully awake and excited.
Lu Han had just woken up and her brain wasn't fully activated yet. She just stared at the two of them blankly for a moment, then lowered her head to continue eating the wontons without asking anything.
"Reba, did you not sleep well last night?" Lu Han finally couldn't help but ask, her tone filled with sincere concern.
Dilraba had just picked up a red bean bun and taken a bite when she heard this and almost choked.
After taking a sip of soy milk, she mumbled something:
"No, no! I slept perfectly! I just kept having dreams, so I probably don't look too good!"
Lu Han gave an "oh" and didn't ask any further questions. He had a feeling that there was an inexplicable atmosphere between Su Yu and Reba this morning.
After hearing Lu Han's words, Su Yu turned to look at Reba. Her face was flushed, showing no signs of not having slept well at all. It was clearly him who hadn't slept well last night!
After everyone finished breakfast, the film crew's convoy arrived at the hotel entrance on time.
Su Yu, Lu Han, Dilraba, Yang Mi, Wang Tianzuo, and several other child actors, along with several main cast members and staff, traveled to the airport in several cars.
The flight from the capital to Changbaishan Airport is short, but the temperature change after landing is drastic.
Before the plane even landed, the view outside the window had already changed from the gray plains of the north to rolling white mountains.
Reba pressed her face against the porthole, her face beaming with excitement: "Snow! Su Yu, look, it's all snow!!"
Su Yu was sitting next to her reading a book when she shook him a couple of times. Helplessly, he opened his eyes and glanced out the window.
The continuous snow-capped mountains gleamed silvery-white in the sunlight, like a sleeping dragon stretching across the land. He had to admit, they were indeed quite magnificent.
As soon as I got off the plane, a dry and biting cold wind hit me.
The thermometer showed -7 degrees Celsius, but the perceived temperature was even lower.
As soon as Dilraba got off the plane, she sneezed. Yang Mi took a scarf out of her bag and handed it to her, saying, "I told you to wear more, but you didn't listen," but she considerately wrapped the scarf around her twice.
The film crew settled down in a town at the foot of Changbai Mountain.
This is a typical small town in Northeast China. It's already November, and it seems like it's snowed a few times. There are piles of snow half a person high on the roadside, icicles hanging from the eaves, and the air is filled with the smell of burning firewood and the aroma of sauerkraut stew with vermicelli.
The film crew booked a small hotel. The conditions were not as good as those of a star-rated hotel in the capital, but it was clean and warm. The owner was a local, and when he saw the group of celebrities, he was so enthusiastic that he wanted to serve them himself.
That evening, everyone sat around the kang (a heated brick bed) and enjoyed a traditional Northeastern Chinese meal – stewed goose in an iron pot.
