Chapter 765 - 736: Love Across Parallel Worlds [058]
Coming out of the private room, Sienna Thorne was a bit unsteady on her feet, clinging to Simon Forrester’s arm, barely making it into the elevator. The elevator was empty, and as soon as the doors closed, she hugged Simon Forrester’s waist, burying her face in his neck, closing her eyes as if she were resting.
Simon Forrester held her tightly, his voice husky, asked, "Come to my place?"
She mumbled, "What time is it?"
Simon Forrester raised his wrist to check his watch: "Nine o’clock."
"...No, it’s too late, I have to go back."
"Alright, I’ll take you home."
The elevator went straight to the hotel garage, and Simon Forrester guided Sienna Thorne out, found the car, helped her into the passenger seat, fastened her seatbelt, and quickly got into the driver’s seat.
The car drove out of the hotel, heading towards the old villa area.
Sienna Thorne felt a bit dizzy and didn’t talk much, her eyes half closed. Simon Forrester reclined the passenger seat a bit to let her lie more comfortably.
"In the future, when I’m not around, don’t drink," his voice was still stern, "it’s not safe."
Despite being tipsy, Sienna Thorne still explained, "Because I knew you were coming to pick me up, I just had a little, it’s the New Year after all."
Simon Forrester, hearing this, didn’t say anything else but tightened his grip on her small hand resting on her thigh with his right hand.
There were fewer cars on the road during the New Year, and Simon Forrester was driving a powerful sports car, quickly leaving the city center. Seeing him head towards the golf course, Sienna Thorne sat up, looked around, and asked in confusion, "Aren’t you taking me home?"
"Let’s talk for a while before going back."
"Oh." Sienna Thorne nestled back into the seat, "Go ahead, I’m listening."
"Remember to remind your parents tomorrow that I’m visiting the day after,"
Sienna Thorne lowered her voice, "Oh... I remember."
Seeing her looking uneasy, Simon Forrester thought for a moment and decided to prepare her mentally: "I ran into your dad at a friend’s house today. We had a nice chat, so don’t worry when you mention it tomorrow, he’ll agree."
"Which friend?"
"I’ll introduce you someday."
Although Sienna Thorne’s mind was still fuzzy, she wasn’t dull. With Simon Forrester’s mention, she instantly understood.
Someone whom Quentin Thorne would visit to pay New Year respects must be a high-ranking person. If Simon Forrester is in contact with such a person, perhaps he has the connections and resources Quentin Thorne wants, making him likely to approve of their relationship.
Understanding this, Sienna Thorne was overjoyed.
A problem that had always been a major headache seemed to be easily solved.
Smiling, she wrapped her arms around Simon Forrester’s shoulders, gently resting her face against his shoulder, whispering, "No wonder on New Year’s Eve you asked me to marry you in May. You already had a plan."
Simon Forrester smiled, raising a hand to rub her hair, "So, will you agree to marry me?"
"Still the same words, depends on..." Before she could finish, Simon Forrester slowly pulled the car to a stop.
She thought they were home and sat up to look outside.
It was pitch black all around, faintly revealing a long road ahead, with tall, dense trees on both sides, not a single person or car in sight.
Simon Forrester pulled the handbrake, rolled down the window a little to let fresh air into the car.
He pulled Sienna Thorne into his arms, kissed her forehead, and laughed, "Let’s sit for a while before going back. Otherwise, in your drunken state, your dad would scold you when you get home."
She laughed while nestled in his embrace, "Sure, let’s sit for a while, but why come to such a dark place?"
