Rebirth of the Peak Young Master

Chapter 1419: Detour

Chapter 1419: Detour

Ten minutes later, Zheng Keji’s car quickly got stuck. He wasn’t surprised by the frequent traffic jams in the city. Calmly, he looked at the view outside the car.

The two cars had been stuck on the road for more than ten minutes and hadn’t moved. The cab driver, feeling bored, turned on the radio. The station promptly reported the real-time traffic conditions: "At 2:15 this afternoon, there was a multi-car collision involving 11 vehicles near Golden Light Alley on Wuzhou Avenue. We advise all drivers to detour if heading through this area."

The cab driver exclaimed in surprise: "Damn, I said it was jammed. I couldn’t move for over ten minutes. Turns out, it’s eleven cars. That’s a line of eleven cars. What a mess, my mom..."

Brother Min frowned, "How long will it be jammed?"

The cab driver glanced out the window, saying, "It’s five or six kilometers from the accident scene. It’s too long. I suggest taking a detour. Otherwise, I won’t be responsible for running late!"

"A detour?" Brother Min thought, "Do you know the way?"

"Of course! How could I drive a taxi and not know the roads? Are you kidding me! Not to boast, but there’s no place I haven’t driven in Muzhou City!" The cab driver sounded unhappy hearing Brother Ming’s words.

"Then drive wherever!" Brother Min looked impatient.

"If you detour, I know a side road that can quickly get us to Muzhou Airport, but I have to warn you, it’s far, so it will definitely cost more than ten bucks. Don’t blame me then!" The cab driver turned around.

"Yes!" Zheng Keji, who had been silent, finally spoke.

The cab driver opened the door and went to the car behind to rent another cab. He spoke with the other cab driver. Fortunately, both cars were in the right lanes. The two cabs drove to the side road a few hundred meters ahead, quickly turning right into a narrow alley. The cab driver seemed familiar with this route, weaving through the alleys skillfully.

Seeing that the cab driver knew the way, Brother Min exhaled, keeping an eye on the scenery outside the window.

Ten minutes later, Zheng Keji suddenly let out a soft cough. Brother Min noticed Zheng Keji looking at the rearview mirror. Zheng Keji had been watching the road outside. He placed his left hand on the thigh, continuously rubbing his thigh with his left index finger.

Brother Min saw his hands clasp his chest, the left hand slid into the right pocket. A few seconds later, a knife was gripped in Brother Min’s left pocket, suddenly finding himself at an impasse. He thrust directly at the cab driver’s throat. Caught off guard, the cab driver was stabbed directly in the right throat by Brother Min. The driver screamed and clutched his throat with his right hand, reaching under his seat with his left hand to pull out a gun, attempting to shoot Brother Ming. Ming Ge stabbed the cab driver in the back of the neck again. The cab driver couldn’t hold on any longer, collapsing dead against the steering wheel. The out-of-control cab crashed into a wall. Brother Ming released his seatbelt, getting dragged by the massive inertia, slamming directly into the cab’s front windshield. His forehead shattered, bleeding continuously.

In the cab behind, two of Brother Min’s subordinates were sharp-minded. They quickly noticed something was wrong up ahead. With a mindset to shoot them rather than let them go, they pulled out their guns and fired a shot at the driver’s head. The driver died on the spot. The car also crashed into a large tree. Shaking their heads, they immediately kicked open the doors, striding towards Zheng Keji’s car.

Brother Min also shook his head, sobering up. Then he quickly turned his head: "Boss, are you okay?"

Zheng Keji had just hit the seat and wasn’t blocking the way. He lightly shook his head: "I’m fine. It’s not suitable to stay here long. Quickly, let’s leave."

The other two came over, opened the door, and helped Zheng Keji back to the road ahead.

Brother Min wiped the blood from his forehead: "Boss, how did you figure it out?"

"Although I don’t know the roads, I still recognize road signs. The other two were leading us through the opposite side of the Wuzhou Airport." Zheng Keji answered softly.

"The boss really has sharp eyes!" The others were overjoyed.

"Let’s go. We must leave before the others catch on."

"Alright."

A few kilometers away, a fierce-looking man was staring at a satellite positioning device. After a moment, that man said loudly: "No, the big fish has made a move!"

"What’s going on, is nothing left?"

The man was Zuo Muyang, son of Zuo Qingyun, his brows furrowed: "The positioning shows the big fish is slowly moving back, indicating they’ve left their vehicle.

Four people hurried into the dense forest. Just a few seconds after they entered, Zuo Muyang’s convoy rushed in. Zuo Muyang laughed: "Hahaha, Zheng Keji, you’re too naive. Do you think Muzhou City has a dense enough forest for you to hide in? Ada, take your men and intercept. Feiji, you take your brothers to intercept on the left. The right side is a dead end, don’t worry. The others will follow me!"

"Yes, less on the left!"

"Remember, besides Zheng Keji, don’t even think about executing the killing orders!"

"Got it!"

Brother Min carried Zheng Keji, running frantically forward. Brother Min’s anxiety started to rise: "Boss, there’s a mountain on the right, no way out. Let’s give it our all and charge forward..."

Zheng Keji nodded, but there was a trace of despair on his face. It seemed the other side was ready, lying in wait with a big net, waiting for him to plunge into it. Escaping with his group wouldn’t be easy.

Zheng Keji’s group’s pace wasn’t very fast, and they were quickly caught by the people chasing behind.

Brother Min’s two subordinates gritted their teeth, stopped, and pulled out handguns: "Boss, Brother Min, you go first, we’ll blow them apart!"

With a trace of sadness on his face, there was no other choice now. Brother Min gritted his teeth: "Good brothers, take care!"

Brother Min helped Zheng Keji run forward.

"Zheng Keji, you can’t escape. Be obedient and surrender!" Zuo Muyang quickly brought his men along.

"Screw you!" Ming Ge’s two subordinates raised their guns and fired at Zuo Ming. Zuo Ming quickly hid behind a tree. Meanwhile, the other Qingyun Gang members began firing at Ming Ge’s two men.

After a fierce battle, the two subordinates of Brother Min were overpowered by the enemy’s numbers and were slaughtered. Zuo Muyang and the Qingyun Gang continued to pursue.

Brother Min helped Zheng Keji, quickly noticing that the dense forest seemed to end ahead. This wasn’t a dense forest at all but just a small grove by the mountain. Brother Min looked at Zheng Keji without speaking. Zheng Keji watched the grassland ahead, expressionless.

Sure enough, seven or eight people climbed out from the grassland. The leader was Ada, responsible for intercepting in front of the forest. Brother Min looked to the left, and there were seven to eight Qingyun Gang members as well.

Grinding his teeth, Brother Min said, "Boss, cover me. Let’s head to the front. Before the army catches up from behind, let’s break through and steal their car. I’ll handle this."

Zheng Keji closed his eyes deeply, sighed, and nodded.

Brother Min pulled out a short knife from his pocket and charged towards Ada and Zheng Keji’s group with a roar.

Ada’s eyebrows twitched. He waved: "Brothers, leave Zheng Keji alive, kill the rest!"

"Charge!" Ada’s men drew their weapons, charging at Ming Ge.

Brother Min dodged a man’s machete, grabbed another’s sleeve, stabbing him in the chest. The man coughed blood and died on the spot. Brother Min didn’t look at the body, kicked it away, his left hand held Zheng Keji as they continued to break out. During the escape, Brother Min slit another man’s throat, his wound gushing like a fountain, spurting blood into the air. Brother Min was covered in the man’s blood. He turned, kicking down those attacking Zheng Keji: "Boss, go quickly!"
