Chapter 635 New Year’S Greetings!
Chapter 635 New Year’S Greetings!
I started writing this book in the heat of summer, and it’s New Year’s Eve in the blink of an eye. Time flies so fast!
First of all, Panda would like to send blessings to all readers and friends!
In the new year, I wish everyone all the best! Family fun! In good health! Dragon horse spirit!
I wish single friends a prosperous Year of the Dragon! I wish all my friends who are going to school to get all the right marks in the plenary exam! I wish my working friends a promotion and a salary increase! I wish all my friends can experience instant wealth in the Year of the Dragon!
I wish our motherland prosperity in the new year!
Let’s chat casually.
When I started writing a book a few years ago, I felt very comfortable writing these small talk chapters. After all, for the author, hydrology brings a sense of pleasure, and this kind of chat chapter is full of water, which makes him so happy.
However, I have written many small talk chapters over the years, and I am actually running out of words and don’t know what to talk about anymore, so there may be some illogical nonsense below, and you can quickly flip through it.
In 2024, I set a small goal for myself to read three hundred physical books.
There are probably close to 3,000 paper books hoarded at home. The bookshelf has long been filled up and it has begun to hold up. Most of them have not been read, which is a huge waste. You must calm down and read them unexpectedly.
Today is February 9th, and I have read 21 books so far. According to this pace, I will not be able to achieve my goal. I will probably have more free time after the New Year, so I have to try to speed up.
Some book friends asked me privately that they also wanted to write novels, but how should they start? How to learn it? Can I learn from you? Do you want to sign up for some writing classes?
I said you should never take writing classes, they are all a waste of money. If you follow me, you will learn something wrong. You might as well eat something good, learn famous literary works, learn popular best-sellers, and write them out first. With hundreds or thousands of books, you can learn by yourself without a teacher. Inspiration comes from reading. All the stories you have read will hover above your head like a ghost, attached to you from time to time, and manipulate you to write novels.
In fact, it is not very scientific to calculate the amount of reading in terms of "books". For example, among the books I have read recently, short books such as "Points and Lines" by Matsumoto Seicho or "Golf Course Murder" by Agatha Christie will make you stay up late. You can read it in one night, but thick books like "Auspicious: Wang Mang and His Era" or "Encyclopedia of Urban Legends" often take several days to finish.
Moreover, when reading a book as an author, the steps are much more troublesome than that of a pure reader. After reading, you have to take notes and analyze whether the whole book has a three-act structure or what kind of structure, what is the role of each character, and how many times the climax is advanced. How the trick is reversed, what are the wonderful lines and sentences, are there any other books with a similar atmosphere...
The reading volume of great masters is always ridiculous. The huge amount of reading will give birth to a steady stream of ideas. Take my favorite Nanpai Sanshu as an example. In his early years, he could come up with ten or twenty ideas every day. First, I was so excited that I couldn't fall asleep at two o'clock in the middle of the night. After the sleeping pills wore off, I gradually delayed my sleep time. Finally, I even couldn't fall asleep until seven o'clock in the morning.
My reading ability is still very weak, so I don’t have that much imagination, but my sleep is getting later and later. The cost of going to bed late is lack of physical strength, and I can’t sink in when reading during the day. However, I can’t change the instinct of my brain to be active at night, which is very difficult. Uncomfortable.
In addition to accumulating books, writing is also a convenient way to accumulate movies. A certain master said that he had watched thousands of commercial films, which made me dumbfounded. I have also consciously watched more movies in the past two years.
After learning to write, novels and movies no longer have such a strong impact on me, because everything remains the same, and the routines and techniques are the same over and over again. I can't help but watch the technical aspects in them. stuff, so the pure enjoyment is diminished.
It feels like when ordinary people look at handsome men and beauties, they appreciate their hot bodies and perfect looks. But when an old forensic doctor looks at handsome men and beauties, he can't help but imagine the scene of sectioning for autopsy, and he becomes much calmer.
In the past two years, some quite mature works have appeared in domestic movies and TV series, but Hollywood movies have begun to decline. I wonder if it is my misunderstanding. It seems that the situation of the entertainment industry is waxing and waning here?
This kind of ebb and flow has already happened in history. European movies were once the giants. After the two world wars devastated Europe, Hollywood took the opportunity to rise. European movies declined and lost money. Now we are probably on the eve of a similar change. , perhaps in another ten or twenty years, domestic films will be able to completely crush Hollywood.
I have no plans to enter the screenwriting industry, but I am still happy for the prosperity of the film and television industry, because novels and film and television are inseparable. The prosperity of the film and television industry is often accompanied by the prosperity of commercial novels, so I should still be able to make ends meet. One or two lifetimes, yes, I plan to do this again in the next lifetime.
Some readers asked me, "Panda, when will your book be published?" When will the movie and TV series be filmed?
This question is too scary. I don’t dare to think about it now. My skills are still very young and need to be polished with a lot of sweat. In this book, I have polished some things, but I also summarized many shortcomings. This feeling is The best are those who make progress and at the same time know where the path to further progress lies.
Rather than doing a bunch of papers every day like I did when I was in school, I was confused and didn’t know how to improve my scores, so I missed Qingbei.
This book has ignited a passion for learning in many student readers. I am very happy. What if several scientists are really born as a result?
I remember that the alternating current giant Tesla mentioned in his autobiography that when he was seriously ill, he would read Mark Twain's novels. After reading them, he recovered quickly and happily devoted himself to scientific research. Mark Twain was also an internet writer at the time, and his Million Pounds was simply a standard masterpiece.
Finally, I once again wish you all good luck in the Year of the Dragon and happiness every day!
2024.02.09, New Year’s Eve
(The fireworks near my home are a bit too strong, they look like an anti-aircraft fire network, which is outrageous)
